At Tricon American Homes we live our purpose statement:

Our mission is to provide quality housing for families across North America. We also take pride in making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. We’re not just about homes. We’re about people.
With this in mind, Tricon American Homes noticed there was a need to assist our families in times of extreme hardship and established the Resident Emergency Assistance Fund. This generous program provides valuable financial assistance for residents experiencing unexpected difficulties such as suffering a health crisis, job loss, death or other catastrophic events.
Tricon American Homes employees nominate residents in need and submit grant requests on their behalf. Requests are reviewed by an independent Fund Advisory Board made up of two prior residents, an independent resident advocate and an employee from our Resident Services Center. Requests are reviewed and grants are awarded on a bi-weekly basis. Grants can cover financial obligations from rent to medical bills and other approved necessities. This charitable level of support lifts our residents up who are truly in need.
Giving back to the communities we serve is central to Tricon American Homes. Our concern for the well-being of our residents is at the core of all we do. In 2019, 37 different families, across 10 of our markets have benefitted from the program. We intend to continuously grow the Resident Emergency Assistance Fund to be able to serve more of our residents in times of need.
